The Big Draw: Snite Sketchbook Session

Thu Oct 22, 2020, 7:00PM - 8:00PM

Online via Zoom

Join us for an evening of sketching, community, and inspiration. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Come prepared with a sketch of your own responding to this prompt: sketch the view from a window in your house.

During this program, we will share our sketches and talk about the choices we made and the techniques we used to create them. A guest artist will then give an illustrated talk about their work and provide us with a sketching challenge to work on during the program. Sketch sharing, conversation, and feedback will follow.

We are excited to have South Bend-based photographer and folklorist Kay Westhues join us as the guest artist for the evening. Westhues is known for her photographs documenting the ways in which rural tradition and history are interpreted and transformed in the present day.

Register here.

This program will take place on Zoom and is designed to be interactive. Participants will share previously made sketches, participate in conversations, and create a sketch during the program. Video is required. Something to sketch with and on is also necessary.

You must have a Zoom account to register for this program. Don't have Zoom? Sign-up for free here.

This program is part of The Big Draw, the world's largest celebration of drawing that takes place across the globe every year during October. It is for anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can't. The festival promotes drawing as a universal language that has the power to change lives and unite people of any age, background, race, or religion
