Deepen your experience of art and use it to inspire your writing in this ekphrastic poetry workshop led by Shari Wagner, former Indiana Poet Laureate 2016-17. While the Greek term ekphrasis translates simply to a “description” of a thing, ekphrastic poetry offers poets a range of approaches to connect with a work of art in another medium. During the workshop, attendees will be introduced to the ancient art form, look at examples by well-known poets, compose a group poem, and spend time in the Museum galleries composing an individual work.
Convenient, free parking available in the Bulla Road Lot off of Twyckenham Drive. A shuttle runs continuously between the lot, the Hesburgh Library, and the Museum until 7:45 p.m.
