Public Reading with Irish Playwright Marina Carr

Join us in "Looking at the Stars": Irish Art at Notre Dame for a reading by acclaimed Irish playwright Marina Carr. 

The Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies welcomes Carr to Notre Dame's campus for a two-week residency where she will give lectures, host a roundtable, and meet with various Notre Dame classes. Carr has previously given lectures and was a master instructor for a Notre Dame creative writing course held at Kylemore Abbey Global Centre in Ireland.

Carr's plays include The Cordelia Dream (RSC), Marble (Abbey, Teatro Vascello Rome), 16 Possible Glimpses (Abbey), Phaedra Backwards (Mccarter Princeton), On Raftery's Hill (Royal Court, London), Portia Coughlan (Royal Court and the Abbey Dublin), By the Bog of Cats (Abbey, Dublin and Wyndham's Theatre, London), The Mai (Peacock, Dublin/Abbey, Dublin/Tricycle/McCarter, Princeton), Low In The Dark (Project Arts Centre, Dublin), Ullaloo (Abbey, Dublin Theatre Festival), Ariel (Abbey), and two plays for children, As Meat Is To Salt (Abbey) and The Giant Blue Hand (The Ark). 

Carr's reading will be followed by a public reception for "Looking at the Stars": Irish Art at Notre Dame sponsored by the Friends of the Snite Museum of Art and the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Art.
