What is the most rewarding aspect of your position?:
It's really the cliche of being around the artwork. It's amazing to see so much work, hold it in your hand, and refine your personal aesthetic. As a creative myself seeing the work informs and refines my own work.
How did you get into museum work?:
My mom suggested I apply for a photography position she had seen in the paper. My future boss said along with my experience that I seemed to take the job more seriously than the other candidates. The suit probably helped to give that impression.
Favorite work in the Snite Museum of Art?:
The work we have by David Levinthal is amazing. However, my absolute favorite work in our collection is John Baldessari's Throwing Three Balls in the Air to Get a Straight Line (Best of Thirty-Six Attempts). One of the best conceptual artworks ever made.
