Become a Friend of the Snite Museum of Art.
The Friends’ mission is to inspire others to experience art––to realize its educational values, to enjoy its aesthetic pleasures, and to become aware of its capacity to elevate the human spirit.
This mission is realized through educational outreach programs serving residents of Michiana, which are funded by annual Friends’ membership contributions and by funds realized at the annual Friends Christmas Benefit Dinner. The 2016 dinner honored Joyce Hank and her late husband Bernard (Jerry) J. Hank Jr., and their family. Pictured above are Joyce Hank with some of her family: (left to right) Kathryn Hank, Margaret and Ed Requet, Joyce, Ann Monahan, Carol and Bill Hoffmann.
Ongoing Friends sponsored programs include High School Art Day, the Appreciation Breakfast and Program, Art and Architecture Tours, and exhibition opening receptions. The Friends receive advance notice of the Museum's programs for the campus and community such as Meet the Artist Gallery Talks and THIRD THURSDAYS @ the SNITE social events.
Friends are actively involved in many of the public education programs providing both volunteer and financial support. Their memberships make possible programs such as: curriculum-related tours for thousands of regional schoolchildren, Family Days, and a summer Apprentice Program for gifted high school students.
Won't you join us in making the resources of the Snite Museum available to all in our community? We can’t do it without you!
Please see our new Membership Levels and Privileges (PDF) which were recently modified and became effective March 2016. We offer many levels of membership including ones for seniors (age 60+) and students (14-25 years of age) and many opportunities inbetween. Also as of March 2016, we have a "Little Friends" public program (PDF) for those 3-13 years of age with their own level of membership and gift package. What a great gift for a child that you want to encourage their artistic spirit!
You can print the forms, fill in the necessary information and return to us by mail. Or you can join the Friends with online convenience and a credit card by clicking on the red button below. The Museum remains free of charge to all, as your annual dues support our many outreach programs and events.
A new privilege recently added is participation in ROAM (Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums). This reciprocal network connects world-class institutions for the benefit of Friends members at the $100 level and above. Please see the ever growing list of museums by selecting the ROAM membership list link located in the left hand column of this page.
You may also support the Friend’s endowment by giving “in memory” or “in honor” of a loved one. That can be done online by clicking on "Become a Friend of the Snite" and filling out the form that will appear on your screen.
